The Sun Shines Bright

1 Corinthians 13:12-13

I often hear others and myself declare “I just don’t understand” when something heart wrenching happens. Sometimes it is an event in nature that brings destruction and one might ask “Where was God in all of this”? Sometimes it is a diagnosis of a disease that no specialist seems to be able to identify let alone cure. Sometimes it is a careless act by someone they loved. Whatever the situation, the fact is that there is much in this life we will never understand. But what about God? How can you and I understand His plan? How is it that He loves us unconditionally when we as a human race have been so faithless?

Here is a word of hope my husband read to me this morning from 1 Corinthians 13:12-13, and I will quote from The Message Bible; “We don’t yet see things clearly. We’re squinting in a fog, peering through a mist. But it won’t be long before the weather clears and the sun shines bright! We’ll see it all then, see it all as clearly as God sees us, knowing him directly just as he knows us! But for right now, until that completeness, we have three things to do to lead us toward that consummation: Trust steadily in God, hope unswervingly; love extravagantly. And the best of these is love”.

Amen!
